Here are some reasons that your last season's ending handicap can be different from this season's starting handicap:

  • Handicaps are specific to the course and tee, so if the last event you played last year was on a different course or a different side of the same course as compared to the first event this season, that could make a difference in handicaps. 
  • The handicap from the last event of last season does not include the last event's score. If you transferred scores with players into this season's league, the calculation includes the last event score from last year. That can make a difference as in handicaps. 
  • If you did not transfer the point and handicap calculation parameters from last year, then your handicap calculation parameters may be different from last year. This can make a difference.
